  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Tamarind
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery
  • 1/2 cup Dates
  • 1/2 inch Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 Dry Red Chilly


  • In a pan add water, tamarind, jaggery, dates deseeded.
  • Mix.
  • Add ginger, dry red chilly.
  • Now add coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, salt.
  • Bring it to boil.
  • Cook for 5 mins on medium flame.
  • Let it cool down.
  • Add this to mixing jar.
  • Grind it fine paste.
  • Sieve, add water while sieving.
  • Stir.
  • Tangy Tamarind Sweet Chutney is ready for chaats.
