Ingredients

For Masala Paste :

  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 2 Green Chilly
  • 5-6 Dry Red Chilly
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Tamarind
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Coconut grated

For Tempering :

  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida/Hing
  • 3-4 strings Curry Leaves
  • 6-7 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 2 Dry Red Chilly broken
  • 1 medium Onion

Other Ingredients :

  • 2 cups Sprouted Moth Beans
  • 2 medium Potato
  • 2 medium Tomato
  • 1/2 tbsp Salt
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

Masala Paste :

  • In a kadai add 1 tbsp oil, coriander seeds, green chilly, dry red chilly.
  • Saute for 1-2 mins on medium flame.
  • Add this to a mixing jar, add tamarind, turmeric powder, grated coconut, 1/4 cup water.
  • Blend it to a fine paste.

Cooking sprouted moth beans-potato :

  • In a vessel add 2 cups of water, roughly chopped potato, roughly chopped tomato, close the lid and cook for 5 mins on high flame.
  • Now add sprouted moth beans, give a stir, close the lid and cook for 6-7 mins on high flame.

Tempering :

  • In a kadai add 2 tbsp of oil, mustard seeds, asafoetida/hing, garlic crushed, curry leaves, broken dry red chilly, saute for a min.
  • Add onion slices, saute.
  • Now add cooked sprouted moth beans-potato-tomato mixture, Stir.
  • Add Masala paste, mix well,
  • Now add 1/2 cup of water, salt, stir well.
  • Cook well, lastly add chopped coriander leaves.
  • Sprouted Moth Beans Sambar is ready to have.
