Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rava/Sooji/Semolina
  • 2 tbsp Ghee/Clarified Butter
  • 1 tbsp Cashew
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Chana Dal
  • 1 tbsp Urad Dal
  • 2 string Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 - 2 Green chilly chopped
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup Green peas
  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1/2 Lemon

Instructions

  • In a kadai add ghee, add cashew nuts, fry till golden brown, keep aside.
  • In a pan add rava/sooji/semolina.
  • Dry roast for 4 to 5 mins on medium flame, do not burn, keep aside.
  • In a pan add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal.
  • Saute.
  • Add curry leaves, green chilly, onion.
  • Saute.
  • Now add green peas.
  • Saute.
  • Add salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Add water, sugar.
  • Close the lid.
  • bring it to boil
  • Add Roasted rava/sooji/semolina, mix well, lower the flame.
  • Now add ghee, chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice.
  • Stir Well.
  • Close the lid and cook for 2 mins on low flame.
  • Lastly garnish with ghee roasted cashew.
  • Rava/Sooji/Semolina Upma/ Uppittu is ready to have.
