Rava/Sooji/Semolina Upma/ Uppittu
Rava/Sooji/Semolina Upma/ Uppittu, a breakfast recipe, roasted rava cooked in mustard tempering.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Rava/Sooji/Semolina
- 2 tbsp Ghee/Clarified Butter
- 1 tbsp Cashew
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tbsp Chana Dal
- 1 tbsp Urad Dal
- 2 string Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 - 2 Green chilly chopped
- 1 medium Onion chopped
- 1/2 cup Green peas
- 2 tbsp Coriander leaves
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 3 cups Water
- 1/2 Lemon
Instructions
- In a kadai add ghee, add cashew nuts, fry till golden brown, keep aside.
- In a pan add rava/sooji/semolina.
- Dry roast for 4 to 5 mins on medium flame, do not burn, keep aside.
- In a pan add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal.
- Saute.
- Add curry leaves, green chilly, onion.
- Saute.
- Now add green peas.
- Saute.
- Add salt.
- Mix well.
- Add water, sugar.
- Close the lid.
- bring it to boil
- Add Roasted rava/sooji/semolina, mix well, lower the flame.
- Now add ghee, chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice.
- Stir Well.
- Close the lid and cook for 2 mins on low flame.
- Lastly garnish with ghee roasted cashew.
- Rava/Sooji/Semolina Upma/ Uppittu is ready to have.
