Rajma / Rajma Masala

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Rajma soaked
  • 1/2 inch Cinnamon
  • 1 Black Cardamom
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 Green Chilly chopped
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup Tomato Puree
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp Chilly Powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves chopped

Instructions

  • Soak rajma overnight.
  • In a pressure cooker add soaked rajma, cinnamon, black cardamom, bay leaf, 2 cups of water.
  • Close the lid and cook for 6-7 whistles, Simmer the flame and cook rajma for 10 more mins.
  • In a kadai add ghee, cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste.
  • Saute.
  • Add chopped green chilly, chopped onion, saute, cook till onion turns translucent.
  • Add tomato puree.
  • Mix.
  • Close the lid and cook for 2 mins on medium flame.
  • Add turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, salt.
  • Stir well, close the lid and cook for 3-4 mins on medium flame.
  • Add cooked rajma.
  • Stir well.
  • Add 1 cup water, mix, close the lid and cook for 10 mins on medium flame.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • Give a stir.
  • Rajma Masala is ready to have.
