Peas / Matar Pulao
Peas / Matar Pulao, a rice dish, fresh green peas cooked in green paste and rice.

Ingredients
For Green Paste :
- 1/3 cup Mint Leaves
- 1/3 cup Coriander Leaves
- 4 Green Chilly
- 5 - 6 cloves Garlic
- 1/2 inch Ginger
Other Ingredients :
- 1 cup Rice
- 1/2 cup Green Peas / Matar
- 2 tbsp Ghee / Clarified Butter
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 2 Bay Leaf
- 2 Cloves
- 1 Cardamom
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
- 1 medium Onion slices
- 1 tbsp Kasuri methi
- 2 tbsp Cashew
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 tbsp Lemon juice
Instructions
Green Paste :
- In a mixing jar add mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, garlic, green chillies, grind it to fine paste, add water is required.
Preparing Matar Pulao :
- In a pressure cooker add ghee, bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, cumin seeds, fennel seeds.
- Add Onion, saute.
- Now add fresh green peas.
- Mix well.
- Add green paste.
- Stir well.
- Now add kasuri methi.
- Add cashew.
- Mix it.
- Add rice.
- Saute.
- Add water.
- Add salt, mix well, bring it to boil.
- Add lemon juice, give a stir.
- close the lid and cook for 1 - 2 whistle.
- Peas / Matar Pulao is ready to have.
