Ingredients

  • 2 cups Jeera Sambar Rice Washed and soaked
  • 1 cup Jackfruit Seeds Peeled and washed
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 3 Cardamom
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1 Star Anise
  • 8-10 Pepper Corns
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 1.5 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 big Onion slices
  • 2 medium Tomato chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 2 tbsp Red Chilly Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 1/2 cup Coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/2 cup Mint Leaves
  • 3 cups Water

Instructions

  • Wash and soak jeera sambar rice for about 20 mins.
  • Peel the skin of jackfruit seeds, wash and keep aside.
  • In a pressure cooker add oil+ghee, add all dry spices.
  • Add ginger garlic paste, saute.
  • Add onion slices, saute.
  • Cook till onion gets translucent.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, saute.
  • Cook till tomatoes becomes soft.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilly powder, garam masala powder, Mix well.
  • Add curd, simmer the flame, mix.
  • Now add peeled and washed jackfruit seeds, mix.
  • Add coriander leaves, mint leaves, stir well.
  • Add salt, mix.
  • Now add water and rice, mix gently.
  • Close the lid and cook for 2 whistles.
  • Jackfruit Seed Biryani is ready to have.
