Chicken Lababdar is a delicious, rich and creamy chicken gravy recipe, with a little flavour of Capsicum.

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 1/2 cup Cheese
  • 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
  • 1 Egg
  • 4 tbsp Corn Flour
  • 4 Tomato medium
  • 2 Onion large
  • 1 Capsicum medium
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Cream
  • 5 Green chilly
  • 2 inch Cinnamon
  • 6 Cloves
  • 4 Cardamom
  • 1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Red chilly powder
  • 1 tbsp Black pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Kasuri Methi
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 10 Cashew nuts
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup Oil


  • Marinate Chicken: 
    In a bowl add chicken, 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste, egg, 1/2 tbsp pepper powder, 1/2 tbsp red chilly powder, corn flour, 1/2 tbsp salt, oil, mix well, Marinate this for 30 mins.
  • In a pan add 5 tbsp oil, add marinated chicken, cook for 3 - 4 mins by closing the lid, turn the chicken pieces, cook for another 3 mins, keep this cooked chicken aside. 
  • Tomato-Green chilly-Cashew paste: 
    In a mixing jar add chopped tomatoes, green chilly, cashew, blend it to a fine paste. 
  • In a kadai add 2 tbsp oil, cumin seeds, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, fry for a min, add finely chopped onions, cook till translucent, add ginger-garlic paste, fry for a min, add capsicum thick slices, tomato-green chilly-cashew paste, fry for 2 mins, add all dry spices powders one by one - turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, mix well, cook till oil starts to separate.
  • Add salt, honey, give a stir, add cooked chicken, mix it, cook for 5 mins. now add fresh cream and cheese, cook for another 2 mins, lastly add kasuri methi powder. 
  • Yummy creamy Chicken Lababdar ready to have.
