  • 1 big Bread Fruit
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tbsp Red Chilly Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida / Hing
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Besan / Gram Flour
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Chaat Masala


  • Bread Fruit / Deevi Halasu / Bera Halasu.
  • Peel off the skin.
  • Vertically cut into 4 pieces.
  • Remove the top spongy part.
  • Cut into slices.
  • Keep it in water for some time.
  • In a vessel add breadfruit slices, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt, garam masala powder, asafoetida, besan/gram flour, water.
  • Mix well, marinate this for 15 mins.
  • Heat a tawa, grease oil, add marinated bread fruit slices, sprinkle some oil on.
  • Cook for 3-4 mins on medium flame on each sides, flip.
  • Sprinkle with some chaat masala powder.
