Bonda Soup
Bonda Soup, a breakfast or snack recipe, urad dal bonda dipped in moong dal soup.

Ingredients
For Soup :
- 1/3 cup Moong dal
- 1 medium Tomato chopped
- 1 medium Onion chopped
- 1 Green chilly chopped
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/8 tsp Asafoetida / Hing
For Bonda :
- 1/3 cup Urad dal soaked overnight
- 1/8 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 Green chilly chopped
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
- 5-6 Curry leaves chopped
- 2 tbsp Fresh Coconut chopped
- 1/4 tsp Pepper corns crushed
- Oil For deep fry
For Garnishing :
- 1 tsp Coriander Leaves Chopped
- 1 tbsp Onion Chopped
Instructions
Moong Dal Soup :
- In a pressure cooker add washed moong dal, chopped tomato, chopped onion, chopped green chilly, turmeric powder, salt, 2 cups water, give a stir, close the lid and cook for 3 to 4 whistles.
- Smash the cooked dal using smasher.
- In a kadai add oil, mustard seeds, as it starts to splutter add cumin seeds, add asafoetida.
- Now add cooked and smashed dal mixture, add water according to soup consistency, bring it to boil for 5 mins on medium flame.
- Moong dal soup is ready.
Bonda :
- In a mixing jar add overnight soaked urad dal, grind it to fine paste, do not add water.
- In a mixing bowl add urad dal paste, beat it well.
- Add baking soda, salt, chopped coriander leaves, chopped curry leaves, chopped coconut, chopped green chilly, crushed pepper corns, mix it well.
- In a kadai add oil, heat it, add small bonda shape urad dal mixture to oil.
- Deep fry till golden brown colour.
- Bonda is ready.
