  • 1/2 cup Chana Dal / Kadale Bele soaked
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 2 Green chilly
  • 1/4 inch Cinnamon
  • 1 Cloves
  • 1/4 cup Coriander Leaves chopped
  • 1 tbsp Curry Leaves chopped
  • 1/2 cup Dill Leaves chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida / Hing
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Coconut grated
  • 2 cup Oil for frying


  • In a mixing jar add cinnamon, cloves, ginger, green chilly.
  • Blend it coarse.
  • Add soaked chana dal.
  • Blend it coarse.
  • In a bowl add coarse paste of chana dal, dill leaves, coriander leaves, curry leaves, onion, grated coconut, hing, salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Heat oil in a kadai, wet hands and prepare small patties, deep fry both the sides till golden brown.
  • Crispy Tasty Ambode / Masala Vada / Chana Dal Vada is ready to have.
