Ingredients

  • 6-7 Amatekayi/Indian Hog Plum
  • 2 tbsp Jaggery
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida/Hing
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 cup Water
  • 2 strings Curry Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Masala Paste :

  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Methi Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 10-12 Dry Red Chilly
  • 2 tsp Urad Dal
  • 1 tsp Chana Dal
  • 2 strings Curry Leaves

Instructions

Masala Paste :

  • In a kadai add oil, methi seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, chana dal, coriander seeds, sesame seeds, dry chilly, curry leaves.
  • Saute it for 1-2 mins on medium flame.
  • Add these fried spices to mixing jar, add grated coconut.
  • Grind to a fine paste.

Curry Preparation :

  • Amatekayi / Indian Hog Plum.
  • In a kadai add oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida.
  • Add incisions Amatekayi/Indian Hog Plum, jaggery, turmeric powder, salt.
  • Now add 2 cups of water, stir.
  • Close the lid and cook for 6-7 mins on high flame.
  • Add masala paste.
  • Mix well.
  • Cook well.
  • A Sweet Tangy Spicy Amatekayi/Indian Hog Plum Curry is ready to have.
